Amir Essani’s eye care journey began at age 5, when he failed a vision exam at school. After failing his exam, he received his first pair of glasses from an organization called OneSight. They changed his life, making fuzzy words and a blurry classroom clearer.
Now, Essani is the owner of a Pearle Vision EyeCare Center in Schaumburg, IL. He’s now able to provide this life-changing experience to customers of all ages at his practice, something he finds rewarding and interesting.
What got you interested in the optical industry?
I first got started in the industry as a part-time lab tech, where I would make glasses. Then, I moved to the retail side, where I would sell and fit glasses. I became a licensed optician in Georgia, which is where I’ve lived most of my life. The field has always kept my interest. It seemed like owning my own location was the next logical step.
Why did you open a Pearle Vision?
I was looking for the opportunity to own my own optical store and found Pearle Vision. It’s a great opportunity; they have a good leadership team and are helpful. Pearle Vision’s franchise model got me excited. More than anything, I wanted to have something on my own and I can do that with Pearle.
